REGISTERED PLAY THERAPIST (RPT™ Credential Number: T-6634)
Sydney is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) who obtained her Master’s degree and Education Specialist degree in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Florida. She specializes in working with children, teenagers, and their families.
In order to help children, Sydney uses play therapy and creative activities to enable them to process their emotions in a genuine way. Sydney has extensive training in Play Therapy and is a Registered Play TherapistTM (RPT) through the Association for Play Therapy. She aims to give children the freedom to explore their thoughts, experiences, and emotions in sessions through age-appropriate techniques. She also collaborates with her clients' families to help them achieve positive change and accomplish their goals outside of sessions.
For older children and teenagers, Sydney employs a strength-based, person-centered approach. She believes that change comes from believing in ourselves and our ability to overcome life's challenges. She hopes to help her clients identify and challenge negative patterns that may be holding them back, and to explore new ways of coping. Sydney’s top priority is to provide a safe, supportive, and comfortable therapy space, and she is honored to be part of her clients' counseling process.
In her free time, Sydney enjoys playing board games, cheering on the Gators, and working on her latest sewing projects.
